New kids on the block!

2007 saw Neil Nithin Mukesh and Ranbir Kapoor! It also saw Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor! A very interesting, talented quartet who has it in them to carry forward the mantles of the families they come from.

Come 2008 and we have an eclectic mix of star kids being launched- Mimoh Chakraborthy, Son of Mithunda and Yogita Bali; Imran Khan, Nephew of Aamir Khan; Harman Baweja, son of director Harry Baweja and Sikander Kher, son of Anupam and Kirron Kher!
Mimoh’s debut vehicle “Jimmy” is already out (It is extremely disappointing, they say) and the boy has already been signed up for a couple of films. Imran Khan’s Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Naa trailors look impressive. Produced by Aamir and Mansoor Khan and with music scored by A R Rahman, this Abbas Tyrewala directed flick holds promise. Harman Baweja’s “Love Story 2050” has been in the news for a very long time. Kareena walked out first, girls went ga ga over Harman when his publicity photos were out and now Priyanka’s red color mane is the talk of the town as far as this futuristic Sci- fi is concerned, let us hope the flick lives up to all the expectations. Sanjay Gupta’s “Woodstock Villa” which marks the debut of Sikander Kher is another dark mystery from the stable of the prolific director and is being talked about for the hot scenes between Sikander and his heroine (I forgot her name!)
It is not that you don’t have interesting girls making their debut- Sonal Shah teams up with Emraan Hashmi for “Jannat” releasing on 16 May. Sikander has a new heroine in “Woodstock Villa” and the big one is definitely Anoushka, the young model who has been signed on by YRF to make her debut opposite none other than SRK in Adi Chopra’s “Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi”.
Impressive, all this looks and sounds! Let us hope by the end of the year, Bollywood can proudly exhibit a new set of stars in its galaxy who lets hope keep shining for many more years to come!
Here is wishing all of them luck and looking forward to some interesting movies this year!

  1. Love Story 2050 also releasing on the same date.

In Harman Vs. Imran's case, I would prefer Harman. A couple of reasons for this.

Aamir Khan might be a big star, but that doesn't goes to say that anyone launched by Aamir will be a big star. Remember Faisal Khan? Aamir's own brother. He had full support of Aamir, but what happaned to him? For all you know, Imran might meet the same fate.

Another point - Why would Aamir take Genelia, one of the most flop heroine of Bollywood as a heroine? I mean, how many fans does she has , apart from her own family?

Also, the director of the film is Abbas Tyrewala, the guy who used to write scripts before. In comparison, Love Story 2050 is directed by ace director Harry Baweja who gave us films like "Qayamat", "Dilwale" etc. I trust Harry Baweja far more than Abbas Tyrewala.

Further, a look at Love Story 2050 's promos makes you sit back and take notice. Love Story 2050 is an interesting film. Its a love story, but with exciting special effects and an intriguing story line. This might be India's first sci-fi film. The budget of Harman's costumes in Love Story 2050 alone must be equal to "Jaane Tu"'s entire budget.

Boss, a multiplex ticket now costs Rs.250. I would rather go and watch Love Story 2050 than see some overrated and under-delivered performance by some over-hyped star-nephew.

  2. Thanks for your feedback, Tanya. July 4 is just 5 days away. I am positive about both Harman and Imraan. Harman has looks and Imran performs well- this is what I could judge from the promos!

I completely agree with you as far as Genelia is concerned but I dont think the presence of PC is not going to help Harmaan any bit. She looks sick in her outrageous hair do and wears horrendous costumes that dont have even a touch of class!
